Welcome to The Foxhunter.
The Foxhunter, Lucan’s much-loved pub, has reopened its doors after 10 years! The Lucan institution, which started its life as a roadside tavern in the early 1900s, has had an impressive refurbishment, while also retaining many of the original features.
History of The Foxhunter
Once the home of jazz in Lucan, The Foxhunter was a known locally as a hub for great music. The newly opened Foxhunter will be bringing back and celebrating our musical heritage with regular performances from local legends The Jazz Freaks, who played weekly at The Foxhunter for 25 years until its closure in 2012. We’re passionate about keeping the Lucan community spirit high by throwing musical bingo nights, quiz nights as well as live music. Follow us on Instagram @foxhunter_dublin to stay up to date what’s up next!

Elephant and Castle
Foxhunter’s neighbours- Elephant & Castle serve up their world-famous wings and gourmet burgers, fresh salads, pastas and homemade desserts. Open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, with amazing brunch on Saturday and Sundays, it’s right next door to The Foxhunter Pub.
Just want to grab and go? Well lucky for you, Elephant & Castle do takeaway and collection! So why not pick up dinner for the full family to enjoy at home.
Lucan’s got a brand new dog frienly pub! There’s plenty of room for all four-legged companions big and small for them to get comfy while you sip away and maybe even enjoy a cheeky WOWBURGER.
Also, we always make sure that they’re fully hydrated by dropping over a little water bowl and if they’re well-behaved, we might even drop over one of our doggy biscuits too!
